Today’s Sketch: Two Drawing Games from A2CAF

Live Sketch— Today… we DRAW! Once again, we are at A2CAF inside the Ann Arbor Art Center with several thousand Camp PencilPointers! Once again, Joe Foo is joined by Emily and Josh to play two fun drawing games. The first is called “Exquisite Corpse”. The second is a rousing game of “Tag Drawing”.

Exquisite Corpse is a drawing exercise that originated from the Surrealist movement, where several artists collaborate on a single piece. Emily drew the top half which was a DRAGON, and Josh drew the bottom half which was a cat. Continue reading →

Today’s Sketch: The Water Bear and the Tiger from A2CAF

Live Sketch Challenge — Today… we DRAW on the streets of Ann Arbor in a segment recorded this past Saturday at the Ann Arbor Comics Arts Festival. Joe Foo is joined by Emily and Josh and a few PencilPointers to play a fun drawing game called “Exquisite Corpse“. This drawing exercise that originated from the Surrealist movement, where several artists collaborate on a single piece.

Emily starts the game, and is suggested to draw the top half of a TARDIGRADE… or a WATER BEAR. Josh covered his ears and danced in the street while this was being drawn, afterwards, he drew the bottom half of a TIGER to complete the creature.

Live Sketching: The Daredevil Gauntlet – Berkley Art Bash

Live Sketch Challenge – Chef Miker tries to draw in the Daredevil Gauntlet LIVE on 12 Mile Road at the Berkley Art Bash! What is the Daredevil Gauntlet you ask? Well to answer that, we need to examine the character from Marvel Comics. Daredevil is a superhero that is blind, however his other senses are heightened.

So just like the famous comic book character, Chef Miker DRAWS BLIND… but his other senses, namely his sense of touch, will be heightened. How you ask? Joe and Emily both dump cooked spaghetti down his shirt as he draws! Continue reading →

Surprise Live Sketching: May Magical Markers Mashup IN YO FACE! Part 3… Magic Kingdom

Surprise Live Sketch– This video was streamed live from… Walt Disney’s Magic Kingdom! For one final time, Joe Foo and Chef Miker drew a May Magical Marker Mashup… IN YO FACE! In this sketch, the two artists drew their third favorite Disney characters and mashed together with another character… or should I say… breakfast food! Joe sketched Stitch (from Lil and Stitch) as bacon and Chef Miker sketched a Trader Sam (from the Jungle Cruise) as a waffle.

Yes, really.

As mentioned earlier, this video was recorded at the Magic Kingdom and the two artists were forced to move around quite a bit because of all the activities. (Again, audio is not the best at all times, so our apologies to your ears.) However, they did manage to get into a few people’s selfies and eventually found a place to get their sketches complete.
