Live Sketch Challenge – Chef Miker tries to draw in the Daredevil Gauntlet LIVE on 12 Mile Road at the Berkley Art Bash! What is the Daredevil Gauntlet you ask? Well to answer that, we need to examine the character from Marvel Comics. Daredevil is a superhero that is blind, however his other senses are heightened.
So just like the famous comic book character, Chef Miker DRAWS BLIND… but his other senses, namely his sense of touch, will be heightened. How you ask? Joe and Emily both dump cooked spaghetti down his shirt as he draws!
Chef Miker blindly draws suggestions gathered from Instagram. Mind you, they are very complicated suggestions… like “anything riding a winged roller coaster” or “a mouse riding a cat riding a dog riding a bicycle”. Not only is Chef Miker BLINDFOLDED, but he also is not wearing his glasses… making him extra blind!
The purpose of this game is not to create an amazing drawing. It actually sets you up to fail. However, when you take away all of your expectations, you may end up having a lot of fun. Plus you never know what you will get… it may surprise you.
Try this game on your own… but maybe minus the cooked spaghetti. We don’t want angry emails and cleaning bills! Grab some friends or members and a blindfold The point of this exercise is to have fun and create something crazy… so enjoy the unpredictability! Take pics of some of your favorite ones and show us! Post your art to social media and use the hashtag #CAMPPENCILPOINT. The artists of Camp PencilPoint will keep an eye out for these!
