We had a great weekend at Henry Ford Museum participating in Maker Faire Detroit. The artists of Camp PencilPoint had a blast drawing with hundreds of kids and parents! It was great to see all ages participating in each drawing session: from 3 to 30 to 300 (we believe there was one guy in the back of one session, but he didn’t look a day over 298!) Over the course of both Saturday and Sunday, we held 12 drawing sessions. Each was kicked off with a grand entrance by our lady of the bagpipes Emily, followed by a step by step drawing of an owl, a bear or a llama with Joe Foo and finished with a hilarious game of “Exquisite Corpse”.
Thank you to all of the Camp PencilPointers that joined us for these sessions and thank you to everyone that shared their wonderful artwork with us. You are all amazing and inspiring! It goes to show that creativity is always better when it is a shared experience.
We had the opportunity to record a few new Live Sketch Challenges which you will see right here on CampPencilPoint.com over the next few weeks. These include two new segments of Daredevil Gauntlet and the very first Draw or Pie! We can’t wait to share these with you!
Special thanks to everyone at the Henry Ford Museum for their help on making Makers Faire an amazing experience for the second year in a row! We had a blast and can’t wait to work with you again in the future.
